The Malawi National Council of Sports says it expects stiff competition at this year’s Mzuzu City Half Marathon scheduled for 10 March, 2024.
This will be the second time for the competition to be held in the city following its inaugural last year.
In an interview with MIJ Online, Edgar Ntulumbwa spokesperson of Malawi National Council of Sports said having learnt from last year’s event, a number of things have been added to make the 2024 Mzuzu City Half Marathon exceptional.
Among others he said they have included other events such as 200 meter and 100 meter relay races to give more individuals a chance to compete.
Meanwhile, Peter Mumba chairperson of the organising committee for the marathon said preparations are at an advanced stage to successfully hold the event which needs about 37 million kwacha.
