The Center for Social Concern has joined calls for government to set aside high-level economic measures to Malawians.
The latest call by the organization comes in the wake of projection by the World Banks that the country will face a high rising cost of food items this year.
The World Bank has in its report indicated that prices of food are expected to continue to rise due to cyclone Freddie and the 25 devaluation of kwacha including other geo-political challenges that the nation is facing.
Speaking to MIJ Online Bernard Mphepo Programme officer for center for social concern said the projection paint the right picture of the situation which requires government’s interest by cushioning people by among other thing increasing the minimum wage.
