Dedza rope in Chifuniro Mpinganjira

Dedza Dynamos have announced the signing of Chifuniro Mpinganjira, days after the striker was released by Blue Eagles after new terms were not agreed.

The 23-yead-old Mitundu based striker who scored 9 goals during his time with the Nankhaka based outfit played a huge role for the team’s survival during the 2021 season as he was the top goal scorer of the team with 8 goals.

He made his name at Dwangwa United when the team was playing in the elite league scoring 17 goals for the club before being relegated to the Chipiku Premier division.

Technical Director Masa Kalamula welcomed Mpinganjira’s arrival as he described him as a great additional to the squad.

Mpinganjira joins Dedza.

“We’re happy that we have another option in our attacking department in the name of Chifuniro who has played in the elite league for over 4 season’s a clear indication that he is well experienced,” Kalamula said.

He added that he’s a young talent and they are looking forward to working with him this coming season and the seasons to come as he will provide more competition to other strikers.

Manager for the player, Uchindami Kayira thanked the team for trusting his player and promised to pay back the trust once the season gets underway.

“After the termination of his contract with Blue Eagles I was approached by a number of super league clubs but we have chosen Dedza because of their vision,” Kayira said.

After signing the contract Mpinganjira said: “This is another opportunity to get back to my best as I had a frustrating season last year and I promise nothing but goals for the team.”

Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar FC finished 9th in their debut season as they reached the quarter-finals of FDH Bank Cup as well as playing in the Airtel top 8 last year.
