FCB commits MK 100 Million to Presidential Gold tourney

The First Capital Bank will now be the main sponsor of the Presidential Charity Golf Tournament which takes place next month following the commitment of MK100 Million.

The handover was made at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe where the bank was hailed by President Lazarus Chakwera for the commitment.

In his address, Chakwera commended the bank for the gesture, stating that the partnership truly reflects effective corporate social responsibility.

“I am honored to unveil First Capital Bank as our anchor sponsor. This is a significant development, and we will use the funds for their intended purpose, continuing to help those facing challenges, providing relief to those affected by Cyclone Freedy, and supporting needy students in various universities,” said Chakwera.

Chakwera further said that the funds raised during the Presidential Charity Golf Tournament will be channeled to two critical areas: assisting those affected by Cyclone Freddy and supporting needy students.

Later on, Chief Executive of First Capital Bank Agness Jazza, stated that the bank has made the donation so as to complement government’s efforts in assisting those in need, including needy students and those affected by Cyclone Freddy.

Jazza further said the bank is committed to supporting the government in uplifting Malawians in various developmental sectors.

” As you know, we have already sponsored 500 needy students in various public universities, secondary schools, and primary schools through an initiative, with plans to continue doing so in the future, “she said.

The Presidential Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled to take place next month on 7th October, 2023 at Lilongwe Golf Club, and Chakwera is expected to attend the event.
