The Ministry of Transport and Public Works has admitted that financial challenges are behind the delay in completing some crucial projects.
Madalo Nyambose, Principal Secretary in the ministry has for instance cited forex and fuel shortages as factors behind heightened delays in a series of projects.
She said the situation also saw contractors seeking adjustments as it were to meet rising costs.
Additionally, fuel scarcity impeded progress in areas reliant on fuel-powered construction machinery.
Nyambose has since made an assurance that they expect that ongoing efforts by the ministry will ensure timely completion of the affected projects.
