President Lazarus Chakwera has defended his trip DR Congo, which is his first trip to other countries in months.
Last year, Chakwera stopped this type of travel as a way to protect the state’s finances.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among other things, in the DRC, Chakwera will grace the swearing-in ceremony of Felix Tshisekedi as the country’s leader.
The event will be held on Saturday and Chakwera is expected to return on Sunday to continue working in the southern region.
But Chakwera has defended the trip as a milestone in matters of peace and national development.
