The Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs has launched a Development Cooperation Information Management System (DCIMS) aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability on donor funding projects.
The DCIMS is replacing the Aid Management Platform (AMP) system, which crashed in 2020 due to technical hiccups and system maintenance capacity constraints.
Patrick Mzipita, Principal Secretary for Economic Planning and Development, said the system will enable the government to track donor funding projects across the country, promoting transparency and accountability.
Mzipita added that the system will facilitate timely reporting for both government and non-governmental organizations on expenditure and budget processes.
George Dura, Head of Cooperation and EU Representative, emphasized the importance of the system indicating that it will address misinformation about developmental activities and provide a clearer understanding of aid and projects from donors.
