Jane Ansah, the running mate for president of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), has told party followers in the northern that only Peter Mutharika is most qualified to save Malawi from its present predicaments.
Ansah stated the party has experience when speaking to delegates at the Livingstonia Synod Men’s Conference in Chitipa.
Additionally, she exhorted religious leaders to actively participate in public affairs.
She promised that a future DPP government will empower traditional leaders through decentralization when she met with Senior Chief Mwaulambya during the tour.
The chief welcomed the proposal and called for greater recognition of the role of local authorities.
Ansah joined thousands of worshippers at Mzuzu Stadium for the Livingstonia Synod’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
