Innobuild rescues LL city with waste-cleaning

City authorities in Lilongwe have hailed Innobuild Limited; a real estate agency for clearing waste and garbage at Area 38 dumping site.

The waste had blocked a road connecting areas 23 and 38 making it impassable to drive.

However, the firm has deployed an excavator and other locomotives to clear the passage and dump the waste at a designated site.

Billy Chiotha – chief executive officer for Innobuild has told MIJ Online his company has undertaken the exercise to make the environment cleaner and also reconnect the two locations.

Whilst expressing gratitude over the gesture; Esther Sagawa, deputy mayor for Lilongwe City has cautioned against the dumping of waste in undesignated places by some residents and service providers.

“Poor disposal of waste is putting at risk lives of residents for its being a breeding ground for diseases like cholera. It has to be put to an end,” said Sagawa.
