Expectations of an improved fight against Tuberculosis, HIV, and Malaria have been raised following the approval of a grant of over 900 billion Kwacha by the Global Fund.
This was underlined by the Ministry of Health in a statement signed by Dr. Samson Mndolo, Secretary for Health.
According to the Ministry of Health, the grant of over 900 billion Kwacha from the Global Fund has been allocated to the fight against Tuberculosis, HIV, and Malaria.
For instance, over 700 billion Kwacha is meant for the fight against Tuberculosis and HIV, while 145 billion Kwacha is allocated towards the fight against Malaria.
The authorities have also disclosed that the grants are also aimed at building resilient and sustainable systems for health.
The Global Fund grants, which will run until 2027, are expected to be officially launched on August 27, 2024.
