Financial inclusion for all Malawians is said to be key in achieving meaningful participation of people in economic activities.
Lyness Nkungula Chief Executive Officer for Bankers Association of Malawi made the sentiments upon receiving a K3.5 million donation from Malawi’s mobile network and ICT services provider, TNM Plc, towards the association’s upcoming annual lakeshore conference in Mangochi.
The conference will be held under the theme: “Bridging the Gap: Inclusive Banking and Sustainable Development for All.”
Nkungula said at the conference participants will come up with resolutions earmarked to improve financial inclusion, at a time majority of the population is still unbankable.
Meanwhile Moses Dossi TNM Mpamba’s Product Manager said the contribution underscores TNM’s commitment to fostering industry collaboration and supporting key financial sector events.
