Maranatha Academy has scored highly in the recent university selection as 232 students from the school have been selected to various universities in the country.
The figures are according to the university selections released by the National Council for Higher Education-NCHE on Friday.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Executive Director for Maranatha Academy Ernest Kawonga has attributed the high score to hardworking teachers the school has.
“What Maranatha Academy has done this year, has never been done by any other school in Malawi and it is a big achievement even for us.
I can only attribute this to the grace of God and the outstanding work by our hard-working teachers,”. Said Kawonga
According to Kawonga, the school emphasizes on hard work and discipline for its learners and this has assisted greatly in attainment of good results during national examinations.
In 2020, about 156 students from Maranatha Academy were selected to various public universities and last year 172 students were selected.
He has since emphasized on the need for education service providers to put in place qualified teachers and a good learning environment to motivate learners to do well in their education.
