Old Mutual Life Insurance company has donated MK 3 Million to parliament of Malawi which will be used to procure 250 golf shirts for the hosting of 51st SADC parliamentary forum conference.
For the third time, parliament of Malawi has been trusted to host such a conference which will bring together delegates from all SADC member states from 7th to 16th July 2022 at BlCC in Lilongwe.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Fiona Kalemba Clerk of parliament said they are happy to receive the continued support from the corporate world.
“A number of private institutions have come in to support us in this coming event and this simply symbolizes a mutual relation that exists between parliament and the private sector, “she said.
On his part Roy Punungwe, Old Mutual Life Insurance Company managing director said as a responsible business operator, they saw it wise to support the engagement between the leaders for them to tackle critical issues as well.
“We could not hesitate to participate when parliament of Malawi knocked our doors, our business is always part of the African story therefore we take pride in supporting the 51st SADC parliamentary forum conference with this gesture,” he said.
