Nyasa Capital supports Malawi Police service sports outing

Nyasa Capital Finance has made a K2.5 million donation to the Malawi Police Service towards as local athletes are due to participate at an international tournament in Tanzania next month.

The Malawi Police Service will take part at this year’s Southern Africa Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation-SARPCCO Games slated for 1 to 16 September.

Speaking after the donation, the company’s chairperson, Fleetwood Haiya, said this is one way of building a good relationship with the police.

‘’Police to continue playing a critical in the country’s security and that is why we saw the need to make this gesture because they will also be flying the Malawi flag in Tanzania,’’ said Haiya.

Taking turns, Inspector General of Police Merlyn Yolamu said the donation will go a long way in facilitating the travel and other logistical needs of the athletes.

About 150 players will represent Malawi at the event in different sports codes like men and women’s football, netball, darts and chess among others.

Currently, the local athletes are still in camp ahead of the tournament.
