The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) under MACRA has emphasized the need to train teachers on child online protection.
This has been said at a recent workshop in Blantyre which equipped 150 teachers with knowledge and skills to protect children online.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Christopher Banda, Head of Malawi CERT, stressed the importance of teachers imparting cybersecurity knowledge to students.
Sister Evarista Kapwata, headteacher at Stella Maris, welcomed the initiative, noting its benefits for both teachers and students.
The trained teachers will cascade their knowledge to colleagues and students, promoting online safety and cybersecurity awareness nationwide.
