Business operators in Blantyre have been urged to renew their business licenses or risk closure.

This comes as Blantyre city council conducting an inspection exercise to make sure that business operators are operating using legal licenses.

Speaking to MIJ Online, Benson Chirwa, Acting Director of Commerce at Blantyre city council, said currently almost 70 percent of businesses in the city have renewed their licenses.

However, a stern warning has gone out to business operators that have not yet renewed their business license to do so or risk closure of their business.
