Government has dared contractors to desist from carrying out substandard projects more especially roads, describing the situation as detrimental to national development.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Richard Chimwendo Banda, Minister of local government insisted that government has been issuing a red flag to substandard public works and those that even delay.
In Blantyre, Banda has told, a decree has been issued for authorities which include city councils and contractors to address evident poor standards in crucial roads.
He said the roads that offer a breathing space to traffic jam like Chiwembe and Lali Lubani do not require to stall of be of poor quality.
