Government has challenged the graduated frontline health workers on Field Epidemiology Training program to put into practice the skills accumulated in order to improve health system in Kasungu district.
Daniel Mapemba, Field Epidemiology Training Program Manager in the Ministry of Health made a call during the graduation ceremony of the health workers who underwent three months training on the program with an aim of conducting out break investigations and identifying issues chocking health system in the district.
Mapemba was optimistic the graduates will spearhead efforts the district is making in addressing health related issues.
“Government is committed to ensuring that frontline health workers are well equipped with expertise and we hope all the health workers awarded with certificates today will abet to accelerate processes in health system to identifying problems,” said Mapemba.
In his remarks Director of Health and Social Services in Kasungu Dr. Emmanuel Golombe hailed the program saying the health service delivery will improve since the information gap that was there compromised the service delivery.
One of the graduates who is also Kasungu assistant veterinary officer Boniface Chikufenji said the program stands a tool for them to enhance public health.
Filed Epidemiology Program is implemented by Malawi government but is financially supported by Center for Diseases Control and Prevention through I-Tech.
