Ombudsman Grace Malera has disclosed that her office has made progress in an investigation over the hiring of Henry Kachaje as Chief Executive Officer of the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority –Mera.
The Office of the Ombudsman launched a public inquiry into the allegations of un-procedural recruitment of Kachaje following a complaint that Kachaje was hired -despite being under qualified for the position.
Mera board short-listed eight applicants including Kachaje from the long list of 92 who were invited for interviews from where Kachaje emerged the best interviewee.
Speaking to MIJ FM – Malera- said her office has made progress in investigating the case and it will soon publicize the findings of the public inquiry.
